Anti Aging: Things You Can Do To Extend Your Life

Aging is part of growing up. Every living thing will undergo the process called aging, except if he or she dies at a younger age. It is the accumulation of changes in all of one’s features. Multidimensional processes of physical, psychological, and social changes are termed as aging within humans.

As the human age progresses, all features of the human body are affected, in the sense that, human cells and its functions change as well. By this, it leaves a human no choice but to accept the fact that age evolves as he or she continues to exist in life.

Many people are afraid to get old and be in the process of aging. They are afraid to see themselves in the mirror with those wrinkles and gray hair. They are also afraid to experience health problems, which are expected as a human being grows old. As the world continues to go forward, ways on fighting aging are being discovered and developed. The attempt of slowing down or reversing the aging process, just to extend both the maximum and average lifespan of a human or living thing, is called life extension. Anti-aging medicine, experimental gerontology, and biomedical gerontology are the other terms used to describe life extension.

So what are examples of life extension processes? There are many. A great 10 resolutions to achieve longevity by extending our life span are:

  • Drinking Tea
  • Slowing down when eating
  • Relaxing
  • Moderately eating Chocolate
  • Organizing medical information which means having a regular Physician’s check-up being safe
  • Exercising, taking fish oils rich in omega 3
  • Quitting any bad habits.
However, there are methods involved with anti-aging.

  • First, reduce inflammation by eliminating irritants within the diet, like too much Sugar
  • Eating healthy fats
  • Getting enough Sleep
  • Avoiding environmental stressors, like the Sun and Smoking.
  • Practice a healthy lifestyle.
  • The aging process may be reversed with the help of hormones, like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, thyroid, and human growth hormone.
  • Anti-oxidants, which help human body be protected from free radicals, is said to have effects on the aging process. And lastly, the detoxification process through dieting and exercising will largely reduce any existing bodily toxins and also restore equilibrium.

Sirtuins, a family of genes, is said to have an influence in slowing down the aging process. It works by regulating gene activity and cellular life span. It prolongs the span of life of fibroblasts, the ones responsible for manufacturing collagen by suppressing the excessive gene activity. Afterwards, they also boost the antioxidant activity. But, where can Sirtuin be found?

Sirtuin activators are needed so that the function of Sirtuin will make sense. Examples of such activators are isonicotinamide, butein, Resveratrol, and luteolin.
Resveratrol can be found in red wine, cranberries, mulberries, peanuts, and knotweed. Luteolin, a type of flavone, is said to be found in vegetables and fruits. Therefore, eating and drinking the above sources of activators can trigger the Sirtuin gene which is beneficial to life extension.
